Road linking Ha Giang with Noi Bai – Lao Cai Expressway proposed

YBO - Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The had a working session on November 17 with Secretary of the Yen Bai provincial Party Committee Do Duc Duy and Secretary of the Ha Giang provincial Party Committee Dang Quoc Khanh to discuss a project on building a road linking Ha Giang with the Noi Bai – Lao Cai Expressway.

The proposed project will cover a total length of about 83km, stretching from the intersection on Ha Noi – Lao Cai Expressway in Yen Bai’s Van Yen district to a site on National Highway 2 in Viet Quang township of Ha Giang’s Bac Quang district.

It will be invested in two phases: a 12m-wide road with two lanes will be built in the first phase, and it will be upgraded into a four-lane expressway with the width of 22 – 24.7m in the second one.


An overview of the working session

To accelerate the start of the construction, Yen Bai and Ha Giang asked the Ministry of Transport to propose the Prime Minister and related ministries and sectors include the project in the medium-term public investment plan for 2021 – 2025. They also committed to coordinate closely with the ministry during the project implementation.

Minister The said his ministry highly supports this project, noting that he had issued concrete directions relevant to site clearance, funding sources, and the scale of construction.
