NA leader pays working visit to Yen Bai

YBO - National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan paid a working visit to Yen Bai province on November 14, during which she lauded the achievements the locality has made over the years. She showed pleasure at the success of the 19th provincial Party Congress, saying that members of the 19th provincial Party Committee are officials of morality and professional capacity, young age and dynamism to take responsibility in the time to come.

Pointing to limitations in socio-economic development, the NA leader suggested that Yen Bai continue to directing and implementing the provincial planning to suit the regional and national planning, thus optimising the potential and advantages of the Red River for the future socio-economic development.

Yen Bai should implement the 2021 goal of preventing COVID-10 and developing socio-economic growth at the same time, while improving the investment and business environment, attracting investment, developing infrastructure system for tourism development, prioritising the use of high technology in association with environmental protection, building and restoring the typical cultural identities of the province, she said.

She advised Yen Bai to promote its strengths in agriculture and forestry, building sustainable rural areas, and develop its major and typical products, continuing the implementation of the "One Commune-One Product” Programme, and promoting trade and investment. Yen Bai should enhance the quality of education-training and develop the human resources in line with job creation for ethnic minority labourers, while protecting and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic groups and building the people of Yen Bai of friendliness, humanity, solidarity, creativity and integration.

On the occasion, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan presented 20 houses to the needy in Mu Cang Chai district. The Trade Union of the Ministry of Planning and Investment also pesented 100 million VND to the Fund for the Poor in Yen Bai. Representatives from the Vietnam Bank for Investment and Development (BIDV) donated 25 houses to poor households in Tram Tau district.

During her time in Yen Bai, the top legislator also attended a ceremony to announce the new-style rural area certificates and Great Unity Day Festival in Quang Minh commune, Van Yen district, and visited teachers and students of the Yen Bai Boarding High School for ethnic students.
