Muong Lo Culture, Tourism Festival 2020 to officially open on October 17

YBO - The Muong Lo Culture and Tourism Festival 2020 is taking place from October 1 through October 30. Its opening ceremony is scheduled to be held at the stadium of Nghia Lo town on October 17 evening.

The festival features a wide range of activities, including street performances starting from October 17 afternoon, a trade and cuisine fair from October 14 to 23, a photo exhibition through October 30, and a light festival and a music week from October 12 to 20.

The opening ceremony will offer the audience a feast of special song and dance performances. Notably, a mass "xoe” dance will be performed by 2,020 amateur dancers, demonstrating cultural identities of local ethnic groups and their happiness about the expansion of Nghia Lo town’s administrative boundary.

Among the various attractive activities in the festival, visitors can try making brocades, "khen be” (a type of traditional panpipes) or "con” (cloth balls); writing the ancient script of the Thai ethnic group; and practicing traditional dances and song. They can also experience community-based tourism.

Held annually, this year’s festival offers more community-based activities and experience chances to attract travelers in the post-COVID-19 period.
