Exhibition on war memories

The Yen Bai province’s Museum, and the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism have jointly organised an exhibition highlighting memories during the wartime to mark the 75th War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27), and a ceremony to receive documents and artifacts from the Veterans’ Association of Division 356 of Yen Bai province.

The exhibition displays more than 100 photos, documents and artifacts such as war remembrances, letters, and diary pages of soldiers on the battlefield, thus making the public understand more about the soldiers' life.

On this occasion, the Division 356 Veterans’ Association also presented many documents and war artifacts to the provincial Museum. They also talked to the provincial youth union members about the glorious years and noble ideals of soldiers in the war to defend the Fatherland.

Yen Bai city marks 75th War Invalids and Martyrs Day

Yen Bai city now has 1,389 revolution contributors and relatives who receive monthly allowances. It also has 53 Heroic Mothers, 836 martyrs; 519 senior revolutionaries and wounded soldiers, 177 sick soldiers and 178 people infected with toxic chemicals receiving allowances.

300 youth union members, young people light candles to pay tribute to heroes and martyrs

At the province’s Martyrs’ Cemetery, the Yen Bai provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held a candle-lighting ceremony to pay tribute to heroes and martyrs on the occasion of the 75th War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27) with the participation of 300 youth union members and young people.

On this occasion, the Youth Unions at all levels in the province have raised funds to give thousands of gifts; paid nearly 500 visits to the families of martyrs, and those who rendered service to the revolution and Heroic Mothers; held a July conference themed "Yen Bai Youth - Continue to write a peace story"; and helped repair 57 martyrs' cemeteries and monuments throughout the province.

Luc Yen District has recently have two additional communes, Dong Quan and Khanh Hoa, officially recognized by the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee as meeting the criteria for new rural standards (Nông Thôn Mới - NTM) in 2024.
