Yen Bai records GRDP growth of 7.57% in first six months

YBO - Yen Bai province’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) is estimated at almost 9.79 trillion VND (420 million USD) in the first half of 2022, up 7.57% year on year and higher than the rate of 6.9% recorded in the same period last year and the growth scenario of 7.28%.

Meanwhile, industry continued serving as the driver of local economic growth, expanding by 14.14%. Agriculture - forestry - fisheries and the service sector posted stable growth, with value rising by 5.44%.

Trading, consumption services, and transportation activities have continued the recovery trend as the COVID-19 pandemic has been brought under control. Total implemented investment in society is estimated at 7.02 trillion VND, up 7.47%, during the period.

About 2.07 trillion VND was collected for the State budget while nearly 6.15 trillion VND from the local budget was spent. Both budget revenue and spending on development investment surged in comparison to the same period last year, by 22.6% and 18.9%, respectively.

In the first half, there were 373,481 people of the working age group, 15 years old and above, in Yen Bai. Among them, 366,049 people had jobs, accounting for 98.01% of the province’s workforce.

In addition, social security has received attention from all-level administrations. As many as 39,721 poor households and 2,261 other disadvantaged ones have benefited from aid to pay for their power bills. Authorities have bought and given 413,330 health insurance cards to people with disadvantages while providing preferential loans worth 666.3 billion VND to poor families and disadvantaged people.
