Yen Bai city completes new-style rural building mission

YBO - After a decade of implementing the national target programme on building new-style rural areas, all eight communes of Yen Bai city have fulfilled all 19 criteria of the standard and obtained the recognition.

During the 2011 – 2020 period, the city has invested more than 2.28 trillion VND (98.29 million USD) in the work, of which 25 percent was sourced from locals’ donations.

In addition to building infrastructure and improving local residents’ cultural life, the city has stepped up policies to stimulate agricultural, industry and services development. 

The restructuring of the local workforce has paved the way for the fulfilment of socio-economic development tasks, with income per capita in rural areas projected to reach 46.6 million VND this year, up 32.2 million VND from 2011. The rate of poor households across communes was forecast to be 1.53 percent, down 12.8 percent while the rate of labourers securing jobs might hit 95.3 percent, up 9.5 percent from 2011.

On the occasion, organisations and individuals with outstanding contribution to the local new-style rural area building work during 2011 – 2019 were honoured./.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Huy Tuan personally presented support and gifts to workers facing hardships across Yen Bai Province.

On January 16, the Yen Bai Provincial Labor Federation organized the 2025 "Tet Sum Vay" program under the theme “Tet Sum Vay – Spring of Gratitude to the Party,” aiming to encourage, support, and care for union members and workers in Luc Yen District.

In 2024, the total value of activities conducted by the Red Cross Society of Yen Bai Province exceeded 86 billion VND, benefiting 230,105 individuals.

Luc Yen District presents the provincial decision recognizing Dong Quan Commune as meeting NTM standards for 2024.

Luc Yen District has recently have two additional communes, Dong Quan and Khanh Hoa, officially recognized by the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee as meeting the criteria for new rural standards (Nông Thôn Mới - NTM) in 2024.
