JICA volunteer assumes duties in Nghia Lo town

YBO - Fukada Kaede is one of the 16 volunteers of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) who have been taking part in the Vietnam - Japan development cooperation programme in the Southeast Asian country. She will work in Nghia Lo town of Yen Bai province for two years.

As part of the programme, Hanazato Nobuhiko, senior advisor to the JICA Volunteer Programme, and a delegation of the Japanese agency had a working session with the Party Committee of Nghia Lo town on March 8.

Hanazato provided a brief introduction of the JICA Volunteer Programme and volunteer Fukada Kaede, who will work in Nghia Lo.

At present, 16 JICA volunteers have been joining the programme in Vietnam, and Fukada Kaede, born in 1994, is among them. She majored in community-based tourism and will work in Nghia Lo town for two years.

At the meeting, Nghia Lo leaders pledged favourable conditions for the volunteer to fulfill her duties, expressing their hope that Fukada will help local tourism develop.

They added this is also a chance for her to learn more about the people and culture of ethnic groups in Nghia Lo town and Yen Bai province as a whole.

Luc Yen District presents the provincial decision recognizing Dong Quan Commune as meeting NTM standards for 2024.

Luc Yen District has recently have two additional communes, Dong Quan and Khanh Hoa, officially recognized by the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee as meeting the criteria for new rural standards (Nông Thôn Mới - NTM) in 2024.
