Yen Bai launches Action Month for Gender Equality

YBO - The provincial People's Committee has just issued Plan No. 90 on activities during the action month for gender equality and prevention of gender-based violence in 2021.

As planned, the Action Month 2021 will run for one month from November 15 to December 15 under the theme "Ensuring social security, empowering and creating opportunities for women and girls for gender equality and elimination of gender-based violence”.

Main activities during the month include a launching ceremony; forums and training courses on issues related to the theme of the Action Month; awareness campaigns on policies to ensure social security for people in general and women and children in particular; contests on the topic of gender equality and gender-based violence; along with activities to support victims, women and children in difficult circumstances.

The province will coordinate with relevant establishments to produce and publish communication products on social security policies, women's role, gender equality and prevention and response to violence and abuse of women and children.

At the same time, Yen Bai will also promote the involvement of society in communication and support activities for women and children in difficult circumstances as well as victims of abuse, violence, trafficking and exploitation. The province will timely and effective implement policies to support women and children facing difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Luc Yen District has recently have two additional communes, Dong Quan and Khanh Hoa, officially recognized by the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee as meeting the criteria for new rural standards (Nông Thôn Mới - NTM) in 2024.
