Yen Bai holds practical activities to fight COVID-19

YBO - As many as 800 officials, public employees and youth union members of Yen Bai city recently joined the voluntary blood donation campaign "Hanh trinh do” (Red Journey).

As a result, 739 units of blood were collected amid the complicated developments of COVID-19 pandemic, thus raising public awareness of the importance of blood donation to ensure blood reserve and supply for emergency and treatment.

+ Recently, the People’s Committee of Yen Binh district partnered with the district Labour Federation to hand over 50 gifts, each worth 920,000 VND to disadvantaged workers who faced difficulties due to the pandemic.

The gifts were donated by the Because For Hope organisation in response to the provincial Union of Friendship Organisations' appeal for support for local enterprises and cooperatives affected by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

+ To help Yen Bai residents living in Hanoi who are in difficult circumstances under social distancing measures, the Luc Yen Gemstone Association called on its members to donate cash to buy necessities. The goods were sent to the Yen Bai Compatriots Association in Hanoi to directly hand over to those in need.

During three days after the call was made on August 19, the association received over 20 million VND, which it used to buy one tonne of rice and 100kg of red peanuts. The food along with the remaining 6 million VND was sent to Hanoi to promptly help people hailing from Luc Yen district and Yen Bai.

+ As of August 11, Nghia Lo township recorded 107 business establishments affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Of them, 71 units with 994 workers were eligible for reduction in social insurance premiums worth over 240 million VND from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022.

The Nghia Van - Tram Tau Tax Department approved four dossiers of four business households eligible for support, with total support grant worth an estimated 12 million VND. The township branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies guided two firms in completing procedures to receive loans to pay salary for workers. The township People’s Committee submitted a proposal seeking approval for 10 million VND in financial support for 10 children and COVID-19 patients eligible for assistance.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Huy Tuan personally presented support and gifts to workers facing hardships across Yen Bai Province.

Luc Yen District presents the provincial decision recognizing Dong Quan Commune as meeting NTM standards for 2024.

Luc Yen District has recently have two additional communes, Dong Quan and Khanh Hoa, officially recognized by the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee as meeting the criteria for new rural standards (Nông Thôn Mới - NTM) in 2024.
