YBO - On the first days of the 2020 spring, Yen Bai received a good news which is 27 students of the province won prizes at the national excellent student competition for the 2019-2020 academic year, giving Yen Bai the fourth place among northern midland and mountainous provinces and the 20th position among localities nationwide.
Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Do Duc Duy presents a reward to Bui Thi Nhung, a 12th grader of the Nguyen Tat Thanh High School for the Gifted, who earned a score of 17 out of 20 points to win the first prize at the national contest on geography for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Recently, Yen Bai province has faced concerning reproductive health statistics, with the pregnancy rate among women aged 15-19 reaching 15.5% in Mu Cang Chai district and 9.6% in Van Chan district. Home births remain prevalent, with 63.1% occurring in Mu Cang Chai and 13.5% in Van Chan.
