Yen Bai: Nearly 20,000 workers at non-state firms covered by social insurance

YBO - As many as 1,231 non-state businesses in Yen Bai province have paid compulsory social insurance premiums for 19,928 workers, up 12.3% from 2018.

Over the past years, the Vietnam Social Security (VSS) branch in Yen Bai has carried out various measures, including giving guidance and increasing inspection and examination, to raise the rate of businesses paying social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance for employees.

At present, 1,231 non-state businesses in the province have paid compulsory social insurance premiums for 19,928 workers, up 12.3% from 2018. 

In the time ahead, the branch will press ahead with communications to encourage workers in the informal sector to join voluntary social insurance, and also improve businesses and producers’ awareness of the issue so as to guarantee interests for their employees in accordance with law.
