Party Secretary joins CPV high-ranking delegation’s visit to Japan

YBO- Politburo member, permanent member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Secretariat and Chairwoman of the CPV Central Committee’s Organsiation Commission Truong Thi Mai, who is also Chairwoman of the Vietnam – Japan Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group, led a high-level delegation on a working visit to Japan from March 31 to April 3.

Member of the CPV Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Do DucDuy joined the delegation.

During the visit, the delegation had meetings and working sessions with President of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, President of House of CouncillorsOtsujiHidehisa, and President of the National Diet NukagaFukushiro. There were discussions with Chairman of the Presidium of the Japanese Communist Party Central Committee Shii Kazuo, and Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Parliamentarian Friendship Alliance Nikai Toshihiro. Mai also received Governor of Yamanashi prefecture Kotaro Nagasaki.

At the events, Mai conveyed Party General Secretary Nguyen PhuTrong’s greetings to the Japanese leaders, and congratulated Japan on its achievements in various fields over the past time. She also briefed the Japanese sides of Vietnam’s socio-economic development and foreign affairs achievements since the beginning of the 13th tenure of the CPV Central Committee.

Speaking highly of the robust development of the Vietnam – Japan relations, which were upgraded to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia, she suggested both sides proactively concretise the signed agreements and the common perceptions reached by leaders of the two countries in the areas of politics, defence-security cooperation, and people-to-people exchange.

On the basis of its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralisation, and diversification, Vietnam always takes Japan as an important and long-term strategic partner, and stands ready to boost the bilateral relations to a stronger and more comprehensive and practical fashion.

PM Kishida and other Japanese leaders congratulated Vietnam on its achievements during the Doimoi (Renewal) process as well as those recorded in recent years under the leadership of Party General Secretary Nguyen PhuTrong.

They hailed the significance of the Vietnamese delegation’s visit to promote the concretisation of the common perception reached by high-level leaders of both sides as well as the Vietnam – Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

They affirmed that Vietnam is an important strategic partner of Japan in the region, stressing they are willing to support and accompany Vietnam on its way to become a country of independence, self-reliance and development with its industrialisation, modernisation, and comprehensive and intensive international integration.

On the occasion, the two sides discussed international and regional issues of mutual concerns, and affirmed the principle of respect for international law and UN Charter to handle differences and disputes. They also shared their wish to step up the Vietnam – Japan and ASEAN – Japan relations for peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

During their stay, the delegation also had meetings with Vice President of the ruling LDP Aso Taro and Secretary General of the LDP MotegiToshimitsu. Besides, Mai hosted a reception for Governor of Wakayama prefecture ShuheiKishimoto and met with standout Party members of the Party organisation of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan and staff at the diplomatic organisation.

The top 25 outstanding solutions from over 200 authors and author groups were honored at the closing ceremony and award presentation of the 11th Provincial Technical Innovation Contest of Yen Bai for the 2023-2024 period.

Community cultural houses in villages and neighborhoods serve as essential hubs for communal activities

As of now, Yen Bai Province boasts 1,493 cultural houses, with 4 out of 23 wards and townships achieving the status of *civilized urban areas* (accounting for 17%).

A representative of the SPRINT project introduces the initiative.

The SPRINT project aims to improve the socio-economic welfare of ethnic minority women in Yen Bai Province. Running from 2024 to 2029, the project is funded by a non-refundable ODA budget of 9.75 million Canadian dollars.
