The association has participated in major programmes at all levels and made many contributions to the society. It is considered an organisation with many practical and effective activities.

With the attention of Party committees and authorities at all levels, the coordination of departments, agencies and mass organisations, the province’s Association of the Elderly has taken care of the elderly very well. Every year, all chapters actively cooperate with the health sector in organising medical examinations and treatments for the elderly at medical facilities in the province. The province also hold cultural, art and sports activities for them. More than 300 cultural, arts and sports clubs have been established with the participation of more than 15,000 senior citizens.

Elderly people have actively mobilised their descendants, clans and people to observe the guidelines and policies of the Party and the laws of the State; participate in building news-style rural areas and civilised urban; preserve national cultural identity; eliminate outdated customs in marriage and funeral as well as build happy families.

Healthy elderly people are encouraged to continue to contribute their knowledge, experience and dedication to local socio-economic development. Mr Do Trong Tai: The association will continue consolidating its structure; coordinating with relevant agencies to care for and promote the role of the elderly. It will guide the association’s chapters in effectively implementing the project on expanding Intergenerational Self-Help Club model. The province targets that 70% of communes, wards and townships have such a club by 2025 and there will be 60 clubs across the locality by that time.

The association will launch dissemination campaigns and call on its members to study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in association with the implementation of the emulation movement "Old age - Bright example". It will coordinate with the health sector to carry out a project on caring for the elderly in the 2017 – 2025 period, making the programme "Good Eyesight for Elderly People" a regular activity of the association.
