Yen Bai accounts for two-thirds of Northwestern students exempted from national high school graduation exam in 2023

YBO - Among the 140 students nationwide who are exempted from taking the national high school graduation exam this year, two are from Nguyen Tat Thanh High School for Gifted Students in Yen Bai province.

According to regulations, the 12 graders who participate in the selection exam for the national team to compete in international Olympic competitions 2023 will be exempted from taking the national high school graduation exam this year.

Truong Trung Kien, majoring in chemistry, and Dang Phuong Trang, majoring in biology, from Nguyen Tat Thanh High School for Gifted Students are included in the list. Both won the second prize at a national competition for gifted high school students in the 2022-2023 academic year, and were eligible for the exam to select outstanding students for international Olympic competitions 2023.

Of the 140, 35 major in mathematics, 27 in physics, 25 in chemistry, 28 in biology, and 25 in computer science.

The Northwestern region, encompassing Hoa Binh, Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces, contributes three students. Therefore, Yen Bai makes up two thirds of such students in the region. The other is from Lao Cai province./.
