HAPPY NEW YEAR LETTER SECRETARY OF YEN BAI PROVINCIAL PARTY COMMITTEE DO DUC DUY

  •  Thursday, February 11, 2021

I would like to extend my warmest regards to people from all ethnic minority groups, soldiers in the armed forces, officials, public servants, businesspeople, and workers in Yen Bai province.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2021, on behalf of provincial leaders, I also send my warmest greetings and best wishes to veteran revolutionaries, heroic Vietnamese mothers, families with meritorious service to the nation, soldiers of the armed forces, officials, Party members, businesspeople, workers, people from ethnic minority groups, and natives of Yen Bai who are living, studying, and working at home and abroad.

Together with the entire nation, we went through 2020 facing numerous difficulties and challenges, especially the impact of natural disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Upholding the tradition of solidarity, along with major determination and great effort from the entire political system, the business community, and the people of ethnic minority groups in the province, we overcame the difficulties and challenges and accomplished the "dual goal” of effectively fighting the pandemic and preventing it from entering the locality while focusing on socio-economic development with important and outstanding achievements.

The local economy grew well, ranking its fourth among the 14 northern midland and mountainous provinces. Budget revenue exceeded estimates, industries and services hit by the pandemic gradually recovered and bounced back, and the new rural development campaign became a spotlight in provinces in the Northwest region.

Infrastructure networks, especially transport infrastructure, have created a driving force for socio-economic development, with urban and rural areas being given a facelift.

Progress was seen in socio-cultural affairs, social welfare was ensured, poverty was reduced rapidly and sustainably, and people’s lives kept improving.

National defence-security was maintained and social safety and order was ensured. In particular, Party congresses at all levels and the 19th provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 tenure were successfully held, creating a new driving force for the entire local Party and people and laying an important foundation for Yen Bai to develop in the near future.

On behalf of provincial leaders, I would like to thank for effective cooperation of localities and friends at home and abroad, the unity and determination of the entire political system, and the efforts of the business community and people of ethnic minority groups that contributed to the development of Yen Bai last year.

2021 is the first year of realising the resolutions from Party congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 tenure and the 2021-2025 socio-economic development plan. It is also a year when the elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 will be held.

In the context of basic advantages, while difficulties and challenges are forecast ahead, on behalf of the provincial Party Committee, I respectfully call on all officials, Party members, soldiers of armed forces, businesspeople, workers, and people of ethnic minority groups in the province to continue upholding the revolutionary tradition of the heroic homeland, the spirit of solidarity, discipline, innovation, and creativity, riding through challenges together with the local Party committee and authorities, fulfilling assigned tasks, creating new and stronger momentum and driving force from the first year of the tenure, contributing to successfully implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 19th provincial Party Congress, and remaining determined to carry Yen Bai towards rapid and sustainable development in a "green, harmonious, characteristic and happy” manner, for it to become a province of sound development in the northern region by 2025.

Once again, I respectfully wish all people and comrades a New Year of health, happiness and success!
New Year, new determination, new victories!
Sincerely!
