OYB - Young people have joined hands to promote the beauty of the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai in different ways.

Sung A Tua, of Phinh Ho commune, Tram Tau district, has worked for free as a tour guide for visitors to his hometown.

Posting an update to his Facebook page with the message "Conquer Hang De Cho – following locals, no need to pay money, just pay a happy smile" and a photo of a majestic and beautiful Hang De Cho waterfall, Tua receives showers of comments and shares.

Tua said that thanks to the tourism development policies of provincial and district authorities, Hang De Cho waterfall is better known by many people. However, it’s difficult to reach the waterfall because of the dangerous path leading to it.

With the desire to contribute to the hometown’s tourism, and help tourists to get their destination safely, Tua and his brother have offered free guide services. They posted on many Facebook groups of backpackers and tourists.

He said that seeing visitors enjoy the trips, he is so happy.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Tuan Vu, born in 1990 in Yen Bai city, takes photos of his hometown and promotes images of its culture, people, and nature.

Vu said that to him, any place in Yen Bai is beautiful and people are so friendly and hospitable.
With a passion for photography and homeland landscapes, Vu said he hopes that his photos can help bring Yen Bai to more and more people and join the preservation of the cultural identities of the local ethnic groups.

Vu has sent his photos to contests and won prestigious awards such as a bronze medal at the Youth Photography Festival 2019, third prize in the Art Photo Contest about eight northwestern provinces’ tourism in 2021, a consolation prize of the Literature and Art Prize of Vietnam's ethnic minorities in 2021, a certificate of at the 1st international art photo contest in Ho Chi Minh City in 2021, and a consolation prize of the 2nd International Art Photo Contest in Ho Chi Minh City in 2022.

Meanwhile, another young Youtuber, Nguyen Duc Tue in the Van Chan district has used the Youtube social platform to introduce Yen Bai’s charm to friends across the country and all over the world.
On his channel with over 147,000 subscribers, he posted videos about people, cultural features, traditional costumes, food, festivals, weddings, and funerals of ethnic groups in the province.
Recalling the first video he posted on Youtube, Tue said that it was about a wedding ceremony of Mong ethnic group in Tram Tau district.

To make the video, Tue spent a whole night joining the hosts and preparing for the ceremony.
"That is the first time I witnessed a traditional Hmong wedding ceremony from the beginning to the end,” he said, adding that he was overwhelmed and interested in things that he had only known thanks to books, newspapers, and television before.

"That video also received a lot of positive feedback, especially from foreign viewers,” he said, adding that since then, he has had more motivation to make YouTube culture videos.

Making culture and tourism videos, Tue has to travel a lot. The more he travels, the more he understands the hardships and difficulties of the ethnic people.

So, he makes videos to raise funds supporting local people to build roads and houses, donate wheelchairs and breeders to poor and disadvantaged people, and support schools in remote mountainous disadvantaged areas.

Young persons like  Sung A Tua, Nguyen Tuan Vu, and Nguyen Duc Tue with their enthusiasm are joining hands to boost tourism in the northwestern mountainous province. They all hopes to contribute to their homeland and introduce the beautiful land to more and more people./.
