To achieve this goal, the district is implementing a comprehensive set of tourism development strategies, maximizing its existing potential and advantages while intensifying promotional efforts and investment attraction. With this strategic approach, Van Chan aspires to become a key destination on the YEN BAI tourism map, contributing to the region's socio-economic development.
One of the key initiatives is the development of commercial and service hubs in densely populated areas to meet the shopping and consumption needs of both locals and tourists. For highland communes, the district focuses on building community-based tourism models, eco-tourism linked with agriculture, creating sustainable livelihoods for locals while offering tourists unique experiences.
In addition to maintaining and developing existing tourism products, Van Chan is actively attracting investors with strong financial capacity to exploit the district's tourism strengths and create attractive new tourism offerings such as community cultural tourism, eco-tourism, resort tourism, agricultural tourism, nature exploration, and entertainment.
Van Chan recognizes that one of the key strategies for attracting tourists is the effective organization of annual cultural festivals and events. Since the beginning of 2025, the district has hosted several remarkable festivals, contributing to promoting traditional cultural beauty and attracting large numbers of visitors.
Thanks to a rich array of cultural activities, tourism in Van Chan has seen significant progress in the first two months of 2025. A total of 53,050 visitors have been recorded, which represents 21.2% of the annual target, including 11,650 international visitors. Tourism revenue is estimated at 47.7 billion VND, reflecting the clear upward trend of the sector early in the year.
This strategic investment, combined with existing potential, is not only helping the locality establish a strong position on the YEN BAI tourism map but also driving economic growth, creating jobs, and improving the quality of life for local people. Moreover, sustainable tourism development will contribute to preserving and promoting the unique traditional cultural values, providing a solid foundation for Van Chan to continue expanding and becoming an attractive destination in the years to come.
