Job Fair 2023 connects businesses, training facilities, workers

YBO - The Yen Bai provincial People's Committee, in collaboration with the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority, organised a job fair connecting businesses, training facilities and workers in the province and other localities, at the Yen Bai vocational college on October 28.

The province’s Employment Service Centre, nearly 100 organisations, businesses in localities attended the fair which attracted nearly 3,500 job seekers.

Businesses, vocational education institutions, and employment service providers offered job opportunities for workers in various areas such as electricity, electronics, energy, mechanics, manufacturing and assembly, garments, and services.

The fair, an annual activity organised by Yen Bai province, helps connect labour supply and demand and create sustainable jobs for workers. It is also to strengthen the linkage between vocational education institutions and businesses and create favourable conditions for businesses, vocational training institutions and workers to directly meet and exchange labour market information, and job requirements.

Currently, Yen Bai province has 14 vocational education establishments. The establishments provide vocational training for over 20,000 labourers, create jobs about 20,000 - 22,000 workers, help about 5,000 - 7,000 workers to shift their work from agriculture to non-agriculture each year.

Recently, Yen Bai province has faced concerning reproductive health statistics, with the pregnancy rate among women aged 15-19 reaching 15.5% in Mu Cang Chai district and 9.6% in Van Chan district. Home births remain prevalent, with 63.1% occurring in Mu Cang Chai and 13.5% in Van Chan.
