In the 10th grade, Binh and his classmate Truong Duc Viet initiated a study on rescue equipment for high-rises, and won the first prize of the provincial science - technique contest for high school students.

In this study, they came up with a solution using a drone that carries an end of a cable, flies over a high-rise, and releases that end in the other side of the building. After that, the end of the cable will be fixed on the ground while a self-propelled hoisting system used to help rescuers and equipment access target places of the building and save dwellers.

According to the contest’s jury, this idea is practical, new, creative, and humanitarian as it focuses on people’s safety.

Binh said that via the media, they had learnt that many fires occur and result in serious consequences, especially those at apartment blocks and high-rises, stirring concerns among the public. Therefore, they decided to design a device for rescuers to access high floors and carry people down to the ground.

Nurturing his love for science and creativity to help with the community, he carried out a study on researching, designing, making, and applying robotic arms. Thanks to its high applicability and usefulness, the study won the first prize of the Yen Bai provincial science - technique contest for high school students in the 2022 - 2023 academic year.

Showing excellent performance in learning and scientific research, Binh is an outstanding student of the Nguyen Hue High School. He is also an exemplar in youth activities held by his school’s HCYU committee and the provincial HCYU Committee, including the Youth Month, the programme supporting those taking high school graduation exams, and the one on giving winter clothes to children in remote areas.

In particular, amid complex developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, he took an active part in community supporting efforts such as "Blue-shirt shipper”, "The youth’s voice – Preventing and controlling COVID-19”, the "Medicine bags of social security”, as well as others assisting poor and disadvantaged households hit by the pandemic.

In 2023, Binh has been granted the title "Youth exemplar in following Uncle Ho’s teachings 2023” by the Yen Bai provincial HCYU Committee, the "Red Bow 2023” prize, the first prize of the provincial science - technique contest for the 2022 - 2023 academic year, and the Potential Prize of the national science - technique contest for high school students for 2022 - 2023.

His achievements and prizes are momentum for him to keep exerting efforts in learning, making self-improvement, conquering new knowledge heights, and upholding his love for scientific research and creativity to contribute to common development of the community.
