YBO - Currently, Yen Bai houses ten villages with electricity but no mobile signal and 124 areas without 4G access, mostly in the districts of Luc Yen, Mu Cang Chai, Van Yen, Tram Tau and Yen Binh.

In 2023, the provincial Department of Information and Communications has set a target to have all of these ten villages covered by mobile signal and at least 40% of the gap zones covered with 4G.

Also this year, five among 52 villages province-wide currently without fixed broadband Internet infrastructure will have the infrastructure built. Other targets include having 100% of village cultural houses in Yen Bai city, Nghia Lo town, and the districts of Yen Binh, Van Yen, and Tran Yen having fixed broadband Internet.

The department and telecommunications companies have signed commitments serving the realisation of the above-said goals./.
