Yen Bai student admitted to university bypassing high school exams

YBO - Le Quoc Tien, a 12th grader in the Nguyen Tat Thanh High School for the Gifted, has become one of 144 outstanding students of the country to be exempted from the high school graduation examination and admitted to universities and colleges this year.

Tien was among 30 students participating in a competition to select members for the national team competing in the International Chemistry Olympiad 2021. Earlier, Tien won the first prize in the provincial contest in chemistry and the second prize in the national contest in the same subject in the 2020-2021 school year.

Tien is from Minh Quan commune of Tran Yen district. His parents are traders.

In 2025, Yen Bai Province is prioritizing the implementation of labour export consulting activities, vocational training in combination with foreign language education, and support programs aimed at facilitating overseas employment for local workers.
