Yen Bai employment service centre strives to support job seekers

YBO - To assists locals to seek stable jobs, the staff of the employment service centre of Yen Bai province have been working hard to ensure effective consultation since the year’s beginning.

Staying unemployed for more than one year, Nguyen Thuy Huong, a resident in Minh Bao commune of Yen Bai city, has applied for unemployment insurance benefits and, more importantly, been given advice to seek a job to earn a living.

She used to work at the Bien Hoa Industrial Park in southern Dong Nai province for two years. As her company conducted restructuring due to the pandemic’s impacts, she was laid off and had to return to her hometown. After reading many recruitment announcements of local factories and industrial parks, Huong decided to visit the Yen Bai employment service centre with the hope of finding a new job.

Tran Trong Giao, Deputy Director of the centre, said that as the job seeking demand surged after the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, the centre has actively liaised with over 30 businesses in Yen Bai and other provinces to learn their recruitment demand and introduce jobs to seekers. It is currently finding 1,000 - 2,000 workers for businesses.

Since January 2023, the centre has held consulting events and job fairs to help local residents seek employment and supply workers for enterprises based in industrial parks in the province and others.

It has also coordinated with localities to give job advice to more than 400 returning from the military service and over 100 others, he went on.

Besides, to boost job seekers’ access to employment information, it has updated information about with labour export to new markets such as Japan and Taiwan on social networks.

In the time ahead, the centre will continue improving its capacity in line with standards set by the relevant state agency, organising more job fairs, building data about job seekers and job vacancies to connect labour supply and demand, and complying with legal regulations on the apparatus and activities of employment service centres.
