Yen Bai Children Forum 2022 held

YBO - The Yen Bai provincial Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, in collaboration with the World Vision Vietnam, on August 16 hosted the Yen Bai Children Forum 2022 on joining hands to protect children, raising voices to fight child abuse and violence.

Attending the event were leaders of departments, agencies, units, localities and seven groups of children from the Centre for Social Work and Protection, districts, townships and city representing nearly 260,000 local children.

The event is one of the activities for local youngsters and children to express their thoughts and aspirations, demonstrate their rights and obligations in the enforcement of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child and 2016 Law on Children, as well as discuss issues of their concern, especially protecting children in cyberspace and fighting child violence and abuse.

At the event, children groups debated issues related to the prevention and control of child injuries, domestic violence and safe use of social media.

The forum offered 10 messages, recommendations and over 60 questions that are of interest to children with creative and emotional stories.

Nghia Lo Ethnic Minority Boarding Vocational School is among the most reputable vocational training institutions in the province.

In 2025, the province has set a target to create employment for 20,000 workers, with a trained labor rate reaching 70.2%. Of this, the proportion of workers receiving training for three months or longer and obtaining certificates or diplomas is expected to reach 40.1%. In 2024, Yen Bai province sent 114 workers to South Korea under the Work Permit Program for foreign workers and the pilot program for sending seasonal workers to South Korea, which is part of the cooperative efforts between localities of the two countries.
