Van Chan cares for revolutionary contributors

YBO - Van Chan district now has 539 revolutionary contributors entitled to monthly allowances.

Tran Thi Nga, a war invalid, and her family in Chan Thinh commune’s Day 1 village, have just moved into a new charity house, the construction of which was supported by local authorities and people. Nga emotionally said: "After many years participating in the resistance war against the US, I returned to the locality to live, but life has been difficult due to the effects of war and injury. This year, with the attention from authorities at all levels, my family was offered 50 million VND (2,133 USD) to build a house. This is the motivation for us to try to overcome difficulties, diseases, and illnesses.”

So far this year, the district has provided each of four households with 50 million VND to build their houses. Van Chan is striving to offer similar assistance to two more.

Van Chan has proposed granting gifts by the President and the province to over 960 locals on the occasion of the 75th War Invalids and Martyrs Day. The district also spent its budget on gifts for more than 400 revolutionary contributors.

Local communes and townships have actively called on residents to donate to a fund targeting the group and organised frequent visits to heroic mothers and war invalid families. Alive heroic mothers living in the locality receive support with a monthly amount of 1 million VND or more.

To date, the district no longer has poor policy families, with 100% of families of revolutionary contributors having their living standard equal to or higher than the local average.

Do Van Bach, head of the district’s office of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, said the office has proposed the district focus on supporting 42 families in house construction and home repair for the 2022-2025 period, and further help revolutionary contributors secure capital to raise livestock and poultry; among other works.

In 2025, the province has set a target to create employment for 20,000 workers, with a trained labor rate reaching 70.2%. Of this, the proportion of workers receiving training for three months or longer and obtaining certificates or diplomas is expected to reach 40.1%.
