It aims to minimise negative impacts on society, improve the quality of women's lives and contribute to realise the country's socio-economic development goals through improving women's knowledge and skills and promoting their active role of women in effectively responding and participating in solving a number of social issues.

The provincial Women’s Union has actively coordinated with relevant departments and agencies in the implementation of the first phase of the project which last from 2017 to 2021. It has also directed its chapters in performing specific tasks including improving the quality of communication activities to educate women in observing legal regulations and engaging in solving some social issues relating to women.  Maintaining the effectiveness of advocacy models and improving the capacity of staff in charge of assisting women in this regard are also among the tasks.

In the 2017-2021 period, five out of six objectives of the project were met or exceeded the set plan. As a result, over 375,000 women, parents and caregivers of children under 16 years were provided with knowledge about fostering morality and law observance, parenting, the role of women in ensuring food safety, gender-based domestic violence prevention and control.

At the same time, ninety percent of full-time staff of agencies participating in the implementation of the project received training to enhance their professional capacity and skills to support women in solving a number of social issues.

As many as 900 women who are at risk of violating ethics and laws due to a lack of knowledge received assistance under the project. Up to 80,000 others were provided with knowledge and skills to prevent and combat gender-based and domestic violence.

Each commune, ward and township has built at least one model for supporting women in solving and monitoring a number of prioritised social issues.

This year, women's union chapters will continue to organise awareness campaigns on ethical standards of women, along with education activities for parents in child care and development, safety for women and children; communication activities on social issues such as the building of a happy family, prevention and combating domestic violence, abuse of women and children, human trafficking. The chapters will work to maintain the quality of safety models for women and children at localities and establish 200 models of women's self-management groups in the community.
