It is among the province’s most important projects in the education-training sector in the 2015-20 term.

Prior to its implementation, Yen Bai is home to 530 schools and 765 satellite sites located in villages and residential areas. The province has to date reduced the figures to 130 and 478, respectively, streamlining 1,985 job positions while the number of students going to class surged to 20,482.

Of note, more than 10,000 semi-boarding students have gained access to the State’s support, thereby easing difficulties for tens of thousands of families residing in mountainous and ethnic regions.

In the 2016-20 term, Yen Bai carried out 435 sub-projects with total investment of 735.4 billion VND (31.63 million USD). Education establishments under the project received assistance worth nearly 60 billion VND from organisations and donors.

Meanwhile, 122 classrooms and 494 dorm rooms were built and teaching and learning facilities provided for semi-boarding students thanks to donations from social sources.

On the occasion, 15 collectives and 15 individuals with outstanding performance in the implementation of the project in kindergartens and general schools in the 2016-20 period were honoured.
