The results reveal that the most popular social media platforms among youth are Facebook, Zalo, and TikTok. Specifically, 90% of those surveyed use Facebook, 66% use TikTok, and 63% use Zalo. However, the survey also highlights a concerning lack of awareness among young people regarding "risk prevention and ensuring information security in the online space."

Scenarios involving fraud and scams mainly occur on two popular social media platforms in Vietnam: Facebook and Zalo. A significant 39.43% of respondents reported losing money in such scams. Regarding phone-based fraud, 66% of respondents reported encountering situations such as being invited to invest in high-return schemes on social media, being invited to join profit-making investment groups, or receiving unsolicited links from strangers inviting them to install suspicious apps.

It is known that the survey on cybersecurity risk prevention for youth is part of the project "Youth in Cyber Risk Prevention" funded by the European Union (EU), which will be implemented over 48 months (from March 2024 to March 2028) in Luc Yen District and Yen Bai City. The total project budget exceeds €493,000 (equivalent to 12.9 billion VND), with 100% of the funding provided as a non-refundable grant.

The main goal of the project is to "Enhance the digital education capacity of youth in Yen Bai, with a focus on human-centered approaches to preventing online risks." The project aims to improve the personal skills of local youth, including ethnic groups such as the Kinh, Tay, and other ethnic minorities in Yen Bai City and Luc Yen District. It also includes consultations on decision-making regarding digital education for youth to prevent online risks, v.v.
