Yen Bai’s Veterans’ Association convenes 7th congress

YBO - The 7th congress of the Yen Bai Veterans’ Association took place on October 18.

As heard at the function, in the past tenure, the association progressed comprehensively and completed all assigned tasks.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control, 4,981 members were mobilised to join 2,140 teams serving related communications and monitoring activities.

Meanwhile, the association reported more than 1,400 outstanding collectives and individuals in terms of production and business. It also developed 1,117 models of mass mobilisation and established two new business clubs at the district level and a entrepreneurs association at  the provincial level. As a result, its business models generated more than 24,000 jobs.

To date, the association has 36,551 members.

Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People's Committee Vu Thi Hien Hanh awards certificates of merit from the committee to collectives with excellent achievements.

Taking into account such achievements, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ta Van Long suggested the association continue overhauling its operations toward effectiveness and practical outcomes.

He recommended the organisation of periodical sessions for activity review and building of exemplary models of good deeds for the younger generation and the community to follow.

Participants reached a consensus on setting out 10 main targets; five tasks and solutions; and two breakthrough works for the 2022-2027 tenure.

At the congress, 20 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the 2017 - 2022 term were awarded certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
