Mu Cang Chai among the world’s top 25 places with surreal beauty

YBO - Travel site Wanderlust Storytellers recently listed Mu Cang Chai of Vietnam among 25 places with surreal beauty worldwide.

Mu Cang Chai in the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai is the top destination with stunning terraced rice fields, cultivated by the H'Mong people over centuries, Wanderlust Storytellers said.

This farming practice has created a vibrant landscape that changes with the seasons, it noted.

According to the travel site, June is considered the best time to visit Mu Cang Chai, when local farmers prepare for the new rice season. In addition to its natural beauty, Mu Cang Chai offers numerous hiking trails and boasts a rich local culture.

Mu Cang Chai's terraced rice fields were also listed among the 50 most beautiful places in the world by Big 7 Travel in 2020.

The place, which is some 300 kilometers northwest of Hanoi capital, is among the most popular attractions in the north of Vietnam.
