Chairman of Yen Bai People's Committee Tran Huy Tuan visits Japan's Maebashi city

YBO - Within the framework of its working trip to Japan and attend the Asia Zero Emissions Community (AZEC) Public-Private Investment Forum from March 2-6, a delegation of Yen Bai province led by Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Tran Huy Tuan visited Maebashi city in Gunma prefecture.

At the meeting, Tuan thanked the city’s Mayor Yamamoto Ryu and Diet members of Gunma prefecture for hosting and working with the delegation.

Informing the hosts on Yen Bai’s socio-economic development and international cooperation as well as its collaboration with Japan, Tuan said that there are currently two Japanese-invested projects in the province, with total registered capital of 79.9 million USD. From 2020 to 2022, Yen Bai sent 219 labourers to work in the East Asian country.

Ryu expressed his pleasure to welcome the Yen Bai delegation, especially in the context that the two countries are organising many activities to celebrate the 50th founding anniversary of their diplomatic relations.

The two sides agreed to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, and vocational training.

Tuan expressed his hope to send local labourers to work in the Japanese city in the fields of electricity, nursing and unskilled labour. He took this occasion to invite the Mayor to visit Yen Bai to learn more about the province as well as to establish cooperative relations.

Accepting the invitation, the Mayor said that he will arrange the visit at an appropriate time to discuss cooperation in the coming years.

Also within the framework of this visit, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Tran Huy Tuan visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, and Ribeto Shoji Co., Ltd and Ichiba Food Company, which are headquartered in Gunma.
