
YBO - Facing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, which directly affects the consumption market of processed agricultural products, relevant sectors and enterprises in Yen Bai province have made great efforts in searching new markets through e-commerce platforms.

YBO - By the end of August, the total revenue of commercial and service establishments in Yen Bai city reached over 9.4 trillion VND, up 637 billion VND over the same period last year.

YBO - The fourth wave of COVID-19 pandemic has been causing large-scale impacts, thus hindering the sale of advantageous products of enterprises in the province such as pressed wood, tea, tapioca starch, porcelain insulators and stone powder. Despite negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, 2,728 out of the total 4,382 poor families in Yen Bai province successfully escaped from poverty in the first seven months of the year, hitting 62.25 percent of the year’s plan.

YBO - Yen Bai authorities issued new registration licences for 147 businesses in the first six months while 24 enterprises were dissolved and 260 others stopped operations. Currently, there are 2,537 enterprises operating in the province.

YBO - In 2021, Van Chan district in Yen Bai province is assigned to build 60km of rural roads, with a total estimated capital of 100 billion VND, 50 percent of which will be contributed by locals in the form of working days, construction materials, and machinery. To date, the district has completed 51 percent of the assigned plan.

YBO - Despite a wide range of difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Yen Bai province successfully realised the dual goal in the first half of 2021. Many socio-economic criteria have exceeded 50 percent of the set targets and seen increases compared to the same period last year.

YBO - Yen Bai's climate and soil are suitable for growing Macadamia tree, especially the province's eastern districts such as Van Chan, Tram Tau, Mu Cang Chai.

YBO - Ha Thi Nghe in Ao Sen village, Dong Khe commune, Van Chan district, is trying her hand on the cricket farming which, she said, has provided her family with feed for other animals.

YBO - Export firms in Yen Bai have managed to maintain operations and devise plans to cope with the ravaging COVID-19 although the pandemic has dealt a blow to all socio-economic aspects and is predicted to persist until the end of Q2.
