Over 2,000 amateur artists join spring dancing programme 2024 in Yen Bai city

YBO - The authority of Yen Bai city has organised a spring dancing programme 2024 with the participation of over 2,000 amateurs artits. During the art programme to welcome the Lunar New Year (Tet), Yen Bai’s famous singers performed songs praising the love for the nation and celebrating the New Year festival.

The most exciting and impressive performance in the programme was a folk dance performance joined by 2,024 local artists.

A charaw (or bamboo) and Xoe dancing in Dien Bien street and Hao Gia walking street also attracted a large number of dancers. This is a unique folk dance of ethnic groups in the northwest region during festivals. It is imbued with national cultural identity and features the soul and unique culture of communities in mountainous areas.

The charaw dance was joined by members of cultural and art clubs and groups in the city, and many local residents and tourists, demonstrating a message of solidarity in the community with the spirit of "New year, new determination, new victory".

This is the second year Yen Bai city has organised the event on the first day after the Tet holiday.

(YBO) – The Shanrila Muong Lo horse racing has been held in Nghia Lo township in northern Yen Bai province with the participation of 32 jockeys from the five provinces of Dien Bien, TuyenQuang, Son La, Lao Cai and Yen Bai.

Forest offering ceremonies, also known as forest festivals, were simultaneously held across sacred forests in Na Hau commune, Van Yen district on March 9 morning or the 29th day of the first month in the lunar calendar.
