Yen Bai enters “tao meo” harvesting season

YBO - Autumn is the harvesting season of “tao meo” (also known as son tra (Docynia indica, a kind of pome) – a specialty fruit in the Northwestern mountainous region. In Yen Bai, tao meo is mostly cultivated in Mu Cang Chai and Tram Tau districts.

In recent years, to preserve and promote traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities, Yen Bai Province has consistently directed and facilitated efforts by communes, villages, and individuals to maintain and promote their ethnic culture by encouraging the establishment of cultural clubs and performance teams.

The 2025 “Echoes of Thac Ba Lake” Cultural and Sports Festival in Yen Binh District is scheduled to take place from April 18 to May 1, 2025.

In recent years, Yen Bai City has actively developed spiritual tourism through traditional sacred festivals held at temples and pagodas, drawing large numbers of locals and visitors. These activities not only honor spiritual values but also contribute significantly to preserving national cultural and historical heritage.
