Leaders of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU)’s chapter in Yen Bai, Mu Cang Chai authorities, and representatives of the “Khan am cho em” charity fund are determined to implement the “Thanh am xanh” programme in the district.

As part of the charity fund’s "Thanh am xanh” programme, the project is set to plant more than 8,800 bamboos across 16.8 ha in the district.

"Thanh am xanh” is a community programme that uses music and art activities to spread environmental messages urging people to join actions for climate change adaptation and risk mitigation.

This year, the programme, themed "for 1 million bamboos in Vietnam”, aims to create a sustainable ecosystem by developing bamboo forests.

Doan Thi Thanh Tam, Secretary of the provincial HCYU chapter, joins locals in Mu Cang Chai’s De Xu Phinh commune in planting bamboos.

On April 3, as part of activities aimed at spreading environmental protection message, a concert took place in Yen Bai, featuring more than 100 artists from the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, the Vietnam National Academy of Music, and the Vietnam Academy of Dance, among others.

Earlier, the standing board of the provincial HCYU chapter joined hands to organise a painting and video-making contest for children to share their thoughts on environmental issues. A month since its launch, the competition received more than 40,000 entries.
