Nguyen Ngoc Bac, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of An Binh commune, said as the campaigns are new, the commune has worked to raise public awareness via meetings of hamlets, villages and organisations; as well as integrate the implementation of the campaigns together.

Le Thi Le Quyen in residential cluster No.6 in Mau A township said that after learning of the ‘Happy Family’ criteria, her family signed up for the campaign, saying that it is a meaningful activity. The criteria are inclusive and touch upon all relationships in families and neighbours, as well as social welfare policies and services.

Filial piety and faithfulness between married couples are virtues in daily life. Naming them as criteria helps raise the sense of responsibility of each family member, Quyen said.

Enhanced communication work has helped popularise the campaigns. Van Yen was home to more than 24,000 families meeting the ‘happy’ criteria in 2021, hitting 69.5 percent. In the year, 71 out of 172 villages and residential areas were recognised as ‘happy’ ones.

Head of the culture and information office of Van Yen district Nguyen Thuc Manh said the campaign to build happy families, hamlets, villages and residential clusters will serve as a nucleus for other campaigns and a fulcrum in repelling social evils in the locality.

Furthermore, with sentiments from each individual, family, hamlet, village, residential area, happiness will prevail with many good deeds, encouraging people to follow policies and regulations of the Party and State, he added.
