YBO - In the recent past, the Union of Friendship Organisations of Yen Bai province has actively coordinated with related agencies to disseminate the Party and State’s guidelines and policy on foreign affairs and introduce local development orientations, customs, culture, tourism, and people to domestic and international friends.

The union has actively engaged in training programmes on information for foreign services while maintaining relations with foreign embassies and international organisations in Vietnam.
It has also set up cooperative ties with people’s organisations of the foreign localities Yen Bai has relations with, such as the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Association in Mimasaka city (Japan) and the Yunnan provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (China), through different activities like sending letters of congratulations or sympathies and proposing cooperation activities between people of Yen Bai and those of Mimasaka and Yunnan.
At present, the Yen Bai union consists of two members, the Vietnam - France and Vietnam - Laos friendship associations. It has worked with these member organisations to make annual work plans and prepare for the congress of the next tenure.

Cooperation activities between Yen Bai and the Lao provinces of Vientiane and Xayabury have become substantive and effective, focusing on such fields as education - training, infrastructure development, and health care. So far, Yen Bai has provided training in education, health care, culture, and tourism to more than 300 Lao students.
Over the past years, the cooperation and friendship between Vietnam and China have also been solidified and developing in all aspects, from economy, politics to culture and social affairs. Yen Bai has carried out a number of activities to reinforce ties with Yunnan and obtained good outcomes, thereby greatly contributing to local socio-economic development as well as the solidarity, friendship, and cooperation between the two provinces.
To help increase exchange and understanding between the Vietnamese and Chinese peoples, including between those of Yen Bai and Yunnan, the union proposed the provincial Party Committee establish the Vietnam - China Friendship Association of Yen Bai, which was approved in principle by the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations.
In the time ahead, the union will keep working with related agencies to boost communications and build detailed and practical plans for further strengthening the solidarity between Yen Bai and foreign localities, along with international partners and organisations.

In the 2024 - 2025 school year, Mu Cang Chai is focusing on advancing the "Digital School" initiative, implementing AI technology across educational activities, and applying a variety of teaching methods, including online, hybrid, and inter-level, inter-school teaching formats tailored to the region’s practical needs.

Recently, Yen Bai province has faced concerning reproductive health statistics, with the pregnancy rate among women aged 15-19 reaching 15.5% in Mu Cang Chai district and 9.6% in Van Chan district. Home births remain prevalent, with 63.1% occurring in Mu Cang Chai and 13.5% in Van Chan.
