“Golden Standard” in Yen Bai characteristics

YBO - With an aim to promote the comprehensive development of Yen Bai people in both physical and mental aspects, Yen Bai has given five standards of “friendliness, kindness, solidarity, creativity, and integration” for local residents to head to in their efforts to develop themselves.

Being friendly is to be close and cheerful with surrounding people and treat them with respect and sincere, while being ready to listen to and support them if necessary, and keeping polite.

Kindness is to love and respect others, giving them tolerance, protecting justice, supporting others and being responsible to the community, while solidarity is having high sense of connection with other people and mutual support without discrimination of ethnics, religions and gender, and creativity is being eager to seek new and useful ideas to apply in studying, working and producing activities as well as in the life for higher productivity and quality.

Yen Bai aims to develop people with high capacity of receiving and analysing knowledge in various fields, and passion for studying to boost social progress and serve the Fatherland and people, as well as good skills in the occupation.

Besides, integration is the standard for those who are willing to learn new things to become active in engaging community activities for common development, while enriching their knowledge, skills, foreign language capacity and law understanding to meet the demand of the development and integration of the province and country, and enthusiastically introducing and promoting the image of the homeland and unique cultures of local ethnic groups to friends inside and outside the country.

Yen Bai is the first locality nationwide to include the index of happiness into the indication of socio-cultural development in the Resolution of the19th provincial Party Congress in the 2020-2025 tenure.

One of the unique characteristics of Yen Bai is the launching and implementing of widespread patriotism emulation movements with detail and clear tasks, paving the way for the realisation of the local socio-economic development goals as well as the target in building Yen Bai people of "friendliness, kindness, solidarity, creativity, and integration”, thus enhancing the happiness index among local community.

Recently, Yen Bai province has faced concerning reproductive health statistics, with the pregnancy rate among women aged 15-19 reaching 15.5% in Mu Cang Chai district and 9.6% in Van Chan district. Home births remain prevalent, with 63.1% occurring in Mu Cang Chai and 13.5% in Van Chan.
