Yen Bai works hard to better quality of life

YBO - The authorities, sectors and organisations in Yen Bai province have taken specific actions and measures to realise the goal of poverty alleviation and hunger eradication, helping to bring a prosperous and happy life to local people.

Attention has been paid to supporting poor households, creating motivation for them to escape poverty and keeping up with the community’s progress, thus contributing to promoting the socio-economic development in the province.

Thanks to efforts of the local authorities, Yen Bai’s GDP growth reached nearly 7.6%. Nearly 11,000 workers have been provided with jobs. The income of local people has been improved remarkably.

Poor people in disadvantaged areas have been also supported with housing, production tools, and seedlings.

"The weekend with people” programme has become a movement in the political system at all levels. Cadres join people in constructing concrete roads and communal houses, harvesting rice and cleaning the environment every weekend.

Working together to build roads and promoting the building of new-style rural areas has become a strong movement in the locality.

The number of people who donate land for construction of roads and cultural houses is on the rise.

These make Yen Bai a worth-living place. The locals don't mind contributing, and actively joining hands in decorating streets and villages every the traditional New Year (Tet) festival.

Dancing and sport clubs have been set up in many communes in Yen Bai province. As many as 40.6 percent of the population of Yen Bai participates in regular physical exercises and sports. The locality has so far had over 1,300 art performance teams and 500 sport clubs.

Movements to build "Happy family", "Happy hamlet, village, residential areas"; and the application of criteria related to happy communes, wards and towns are expected to contribute to creating happy families, and improving the quality of family and society relationships.

That is also the motivation for us to live happily, healthy and usefully in our old age, participating in many local cultural and artistic activities, contributing to improving our spiritual life and spreading joy and happiness to surrounding people.”


Ms. Phung Thi Tuyen - Quy Mong commune, Tran Yen district: "Happiness to me is not simply having a decent life, but I want to share it with everyone around me. My sister and I have teamed up with others to establish Viet Hai Dang vermicelli cooperative, specialising in producing vermicelli and selling products for locals, generating jobs and income for women. Now, the cooperative has built a brand for our products, helping women have more income, contributing to improving their lives, and building a happy family life.


Mr. Vang A Dinh - Suoi Bu commune, Van Chan district: "After listening to the explanation from local officials, we find the building of a happy family, a happy village and a neighbourhood meaningful and practical. This helps me and my family members look back at and adjust our behaviour and relationships in the family as well as between neighbours, brothers and friends. Those simple things will help us feel satisfied and happy with our lives.”

In response to Directive No. 10 dated March 25, 2025, issued by the Prime Minister on promoting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), Yen Bai Province has set a target of establishing at least 5,000 enterprises by the end of 2030.

In 2025, Yen Bai Province is prioritizing the implementation of labour export consulting activities, vocational training in combination with foreign language education, and support programs aimed at facilitating overseas employment for local workers.
