YBO - Yen Binh district has planned to run promotion activities and join festivals in a bid to help locals distribute fruit harvested across 700ha of their pomelo plantation.

YBO - Despite complicated developments of weather, Yen Bai province’s summer-autumn crop production this year has basically achieved the assigned plan. In particular, the production of food crops exceeded the target in terms of area, and is expected to surpass the grain food production target for the whole year.

The industrial production index (IIP) of the northern province of Yen Bai in the first seven months of this year increased by 10.65% year-on-year, according to the provincial Department of Industry and Trade.

YBO - The Management Board of the Forest and Farm Facility Phase II (FFF II) under the Yen Bai provincial Farmers' Association has just handed over capital from the programme's green credit fund to four cooperatives and cooperative groups.

YBO - During the first months of the year, due to COVID-19 impacts, the prices of goods, materials and fuels, and transportation costs surged, affecting industrial production and trade recovery.

YBO - Implementing the “One Commune, One Product” (OCOP) programme, Yen Bai city now has 10 products certified as meeting the OCOP standards. Of these, one has been certified as a four-star product and the rest rated three stars.

YBO - Yen Bai province continued to enjoy a bumper Spring rice crop with production of nearly 5.6 tonnes per hectare and a rise of 128.46 tonnes in total output compared to the same crop last year, according to the provincial Department of Agricultural and Rural Development.

YBO - To date, 4,347.9 hectares of forests in Yen Bai province have been certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and got the international sustainable forest management certificate in accordance with the Vietnam Forest Certification Scheme and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (VFCS/PEFC). Meanwhile, 6,757.8 hectares are waiting to get the FSC certificate.

YBO - Yen Bai province sets a target of growing about 80,000 hectares of cinnamon by 2025, of which around 35,000 hectares are concentrated cultivation and 2,000 hectares follow VietGAP, GlobalGAP and organic standards.

YBO - The business associations of Yen Bai city and Yen Binh district recently made their first public appearance, with the participation of 86 enterprises and cooperatives.

YBO - The administration of Nghia Lo town has encouraged local people to convert crops on unproductive rice fields in a bid to gradually increase incomes for farmers.

YBO - The Department of Industry and Trade and the Trade Promotion Centre of Yen Bai province have joined other provinces in the northern and north Central regions and more than 400 enterprises from 23 provinces and cities in the regions in a networking programme themed “Linking suppliers in the northern and north central regions to export enterprises and trade promotion organisations’.

YBO - The Center for Rural Economic Development of Vietnam and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Yen Bai province hosted a workshop along with the Swiss Association for International Cooperation (Helvetas Vietnam) focused on sustainable cinnamon production.
