Yen Bai farmers’ associations grow high-tech farming methods

YBO - The Farmers' Association of the northern province of Yen Bai in coordination with agricultural enterprises has organized thousands of training courses in science and technology transfer. The idea is to guide farmers in the development of high-tech agricultural production models according to VietGAP standards of biosecurity, and organic production.

Breakthroughs in IT, biotech and nanotechnology allow farmers to pilot a number of new models of production. High-yielding, high-quality, and food-safe plant varieties, watering efficiency models help farmers improve returns.

Many farmers have gone ahead with investing in high-tech machinery in production and processing to grow high-yield and high-quality seedlings and varieties.

Typical growing operations for the region include greenhouse and net house grown vegetables in Dao Thinh commune (Tran Yen district), Yen Hop commune (Van Yen district), sin co ginseng in Hoang, and grafting medlar in Xa Ho commune, Ban Cong (Tram Tau district). 

The farmers’ associations actively seek out scientific projects to promote high-tech advances in agricultural production. The focus is on building advanced models to support the development of agricultural and forestry production. 

The provincial Farmers’Association, along with the Rural Environment Center are working on a project entitled, "Waste treatment in farm development" in Co Phuc town (Tran Yen district). The Centre for Agricultural and Transport Scientific Research’s project is entitled "Advances and technology transfer for commercial tomato production" on an area of four hectares in Nga Quan commune, Tran Yen district cooperates with 36 local farmers.

In 2021, the province had over 68.7% or 39,600 registered households achieving the title of good production and business households.

According to the self-assessment results for the 2024 Digital Transformation Index, Yen Bai City achieved a total score of 909.5 out of 1,000 points based on the Digital Transformation Evaluation Index for provincial departments, agencies, districts, towns, and cities in Yen Bai Province.

Hoang Lien Son Technical Porcelain JSC surpasses its revenue target, achieving over 126 billion VND.

In 2024, despite facing numerous challenges due to rising input material costs, Hoang Lien Son Technical Porcelain joint Stock Company successfully produced and distributed over 3,400 tons of insulating porcelain products of various types, achieving 112% of its annual plan.
