YBO - Recognizing that increasing residents' income is a key goal in building new rural areas, Van Yen District has implemented various solutions to boost incomes.

Accordingly, Van Yen has focused on supporting farmers in shifting crop and livestock structures, developing key products and specialties with high economic value, forming large-scale production areas, and maintaining effective production-linked models that ensure high income. It also supports farmers in accessing information technology applications and incorporating scientific advancements into production and business to help increase their income.

Along with this, the district has focused on developing industry and handicrafts, attracting investment into large-scale livestock farming, seafood processing, and poultry projects that use high technology, are environmentally friendly, and meet clean food standards. It has also prioritized tourism development linked with digital transformation and the effective implementation of social welfare policies in the area. As a result, the average income per capita in Van Yen District has reached over 57 million VND per person per year, with urban areas averaging over 73 million VND per person per year, and rural areas over 55 million VND per person per year.

By November 2024, Yen Bai had 111/150 communes certified as meeting New Rural Standards (NTM), 254 villages and four district-level units were certified as achieving NTM status.

The province also boasts 111 out of 150 communes certified as NTM, 37 communes as advanced NTM, and 11 as model NTM communes in November, 2024. Additionally, 254 villages and four district-level units have been recognized as model NTM villages.
