The Yen Bai Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs recently collaborated with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Vietnam to organize a consultation conference. The conference sought feedback on the draft document of the emergency support project, which aims to mitigate the effects of the typhoon on children and women in the province.

With the goal of ensuring that "Children and women in Yen Bai Province affected by Typhoon No. 3 have equal access to recovery support services to quickly stabilize their lives, health, education, ensure safety, and build resilience to future climate change challenges," UNICEF will prioritize several key initiatives. These include providing water treatment solutions, sanitation supplies, and safe water storage materials for households, healthcare facilities, and schools. Additionally, emergency medical supplies, including vaccines, malnutrition treatment products, nutritional supplements, and personal hygiene kits, will be delivered to health centers in severely affected areas.

The project also supports schools by establishing temporary teaching and learning spaces and providing educational materials. It will offer psychological support for children impacted by the disaster and supply essential items such as psychological support materials, educational supplies, hygiene supplies, and basic healthcare products to children and families in the hardest-hit areas.

In addition, UNICEF is providing cash assistance to vulnerable households, particularly those with children and pregnant women, to help them meet urgent needs and recover more quickly from the disaster.

The total resources provided by UNICEF for this support amount to over 1 million USD.
