YBO - The total retail sales of goods and services in October in Yen Bai province was estimated at nearly 2.2 trillion VND (88 million USD), an increase of 0.11% compared to September and up 4.36% year on year.

Of the figures, retail sales of goods reached nearly 1.8 trillion VND, accounting for 83.07%; revenues from accommodation, catering, travel were 187.9 billion VND, accounting for 8.69%; and that of other services was estimated at 178.3 billion VND, making up 8.24%.

A highlight in Yen Bai’s commercial sector in the month was the promotion of products under the One Commune – One Product (OCOP) programme, contributing to promoting images and brands of the province's products and goods while helping businesses gain contracts to sell products in many provinces, cities, commercial centres and supermarkets nationwide.

In the first ten months of this year, the total retail sales of goods and services added to more than 21.5 trillion VND, an increase of 9.56% compared to the same period last year. Specially, retail sales of goods were estimated at nearly 18 trillion VND, accounting for 83.51%; that of accommodation, food, and travel services were estimated at more than 1.8 trillion VND (8.39%); and other services, 1.7 trillion VND (8.1%).

To date, 100% of communes in Yen Bai have roads leading to their centers that are either asphalted or concreted, and 95.5% of villages have paved roads connecting to their centers.

By November 2024, Yen Bai had 111/150 communes certified as meeting New Rural Standards (NTM), 254 villages and four district-level units were certified as achieving NTM status.

The province also boasts 111 out of 150 communes certified as NTM, 37 communes as advanced NTM, and 11 as model NTM communes in November, 2024. Additionally, 254 villages and four district-level units have been recognized as model NTM villages.
