Currently, the province has nearly 3,200 businesses and 715 cooperatives with a total registered capital of about 38 trillion VND (1.55 billion USD). In the first nine months of 2023, the total revenue of state-owned enterprises under the province's management reached nearly 170 billion VND, an increase of 61% over the same period last year, while that of foreign-invested enterprises at nearly 110 million USD and non-State sector over 38.5 trillion VND.
Local enterprises contributed an estimated 871 billion VND to the State budget, accounting for about 56% of total budget revenue in the area, creating jobs for more than 48,000 local workers with an average income of over 7.5 million VND per person a month.
During the same period, nearly 250 businesses and 75 cooperatives were established in the province. The locality also granted investment licences to 28 investors. Currently, the province has 616 projects that have been and are being implemented.
Representatives of businesses and entrepreneurs at the meeting shared experiences in business and production and expressed their hope that the province will continue to develop mechanisms, policies and create favourable conditions to support businesses growth.

Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Tran Huy Tuan hailed the efforts of businesses and entrepreneurs over the past time and asked local departments, units, relevant authorities and localities to urgently deploy research and build an Action Plan to implement Resolution 41 of the Politburo on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese business community in the new era.
The province has accelerated disbursement of public investment capital and investment in the construction of socio-economic infrastructure so as to create convenience and confidence for businesses to build long-term and sustainable production and business investment plans.
Besides, Yen Bai has also maintained several activities, including meetings, dialogues with the business community to promptly resolve difficulties for businesses and entrepreneurs.
The chairman also requested Party Committees and authorities at all levels to continue promoting administrative reform, improving the quality of officials and civil servants, especially their working ethics, with a view to building an open and favourable investment and business environment, turning Yen Bai creates into a reliable destination for investors.
On the occasion, the People’s Committee presented certificates of merit to 14 enterprises and cooperatives with outstanding achievements in production and business activities in 2022 - 2023.
