In order to promote the trademarks of local OCOP products, the Industrial and Trade Promotion Centre under the provincial Department of Industry and Trade has coordinated with relevant agencies to increase activities to introduce local products and connect suppliers and buyers of OCOP products as well as typical and strong products of Yen Bai.
Doan Thi Luong, Director of Doan Luong general processing and business cooperative, said that she has joined five trade promotion events to introduce Yen Bai products to other localities across the country. All the trips have been effective, she said, stressing that positive and constructive comments from partners have helped the cooperative improve its products.
The centre has also accompanied local firms during the implementation of their contracts, giving guidance to them in contacting and connecting with distributors and supermarkets to create a sufficient and sustainable sale channel for their products.
Along with activities across the country, the centre has also stepped up trade promotion abroad. Recently, it has send a delegation to an import-export product fair in Kunming, China. More than 50 products for export as well as products with high potential for export, as well as OCOP and typical products of Yen Bai were introduced at the event, drawing the attention of more than 5,000 visitors and 50 Chinese firms.
The products, including Hoang Lien Son technical porcelain, cinnamon, cinnamon essential oil, cinnamon tea, vermicelli, Bat Do bamboo shoots, Shan Tuyet Suoi Giang tea, plastic cladding products, coloured tiles, cassava starch products, and planted forest wood products, drew great attention of Chinese consumers and businesses. A number of Chinese firms also showed their interest in exploring Yen Bai's specialty products and export products.
In the coming time, the centre plans to continue to promote and introduce Yen Bai products to consumers, while expanding and developing the product distribution channels and markets for local businesses, organising and participating in fairs and exhibitions in provinces and cities nationwide and abroad, and creating motivation for local production facilities and businesses to boost their production and business activities and make positive contributions to the locality’s economic growth.
