Yen Bai’s GRDP growth expands by 6.59% in H1

YBO - Yen Bai province has maintained good economic growth in the first six months of this year with positive changes recorded in the economic structuring and remarkable results in the implementation of tasks.

Yen Bai’s Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) was estimated to grow 6.59% between January and June, ranking 5th out of 14 provinces in the region and 23rd out of 63 provinces and cities in the country.

The number of tourists to Yen Bai province rose by 28.5% in the reviewed period. The province’s index of industrial production increased by 5.3% and its total investment for development up by 7.7%.

Agro-forestry and fishery production continued to develop. Total food production was estimated at 184,425 tonnes, equivalent to 58.2% of the year’s plan, ensuring food security, hunger elimination and poverty reduction.

Trade and service activities have expanded quite well, gradually exploiting the potential and advantages of the province. Total revenue from retail sales of consumer goods and services was at 12.8 trillion VND (547 million USD) which equals 50.5% of the year’s plan and 102.2% of the growth scenario, up 12.5% over the same period last year.
 
The export value of goods was estimated at 151 million USD, which is equivalent to 43.1% of the plan for the whole year and 87.8% of the growth scenario. Positive progress has been recorded in socio-economic development in disadvantaged areas. The people's material and spiritual lives has been improved while the development gap between the highlands and the lowlands has been narrowed./.
