YBO - Thanks to many years of implementing the campaign to encourage Vietnamese people to prioritise Vietnamese products, domestically-made goods have drawn increasing attention from consumers in Yen Bai.

Many kinds of agricultural products of Yen Bai have been chosen by not only local consumers but also those in Hanoi.

In order to change the attitude and habit of consumers towards Vietnamese goods, over the years, members of the provincial Steering Committee for the implementation of the campaign have conducted various activities in many different forms.
The provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the connecting point of the campaign, has coordinated with the administration at all levels, sectors and localities to strengthen communications, bringing more Vietnamese goods to rural and far-flung areas, while organising trade fairs to introduce and promote sales of local products. The department has also worked to broaden the distribution channels for Vietnamese products in the province, bringing local specialties to supermarkets’ shelves, and encouraging local retailers to offer promotion programmes on Vietnamese products.
So far, in local supermarkets and trade fairs as well as local ships, 70-80% of products are Vietnamese goods with high quality and reasonable prices. Many groups of domestically produced goods have been increasingly preferred by local residents such as clothes, shoes; food, vegetables; cooking oil, toys, learning tools for children; and stationery.
Thanks to their ensured quality and attractive designs and packaging, many "Made-in-Yen Bai” products and OCOP (One Commune-One Product) products with strong local cultural imprints have accessed consumers.
Nguyen Thi Thinh from Minh Tan ward of Yen Bai city said that when she shops for goods, especially home appliances, she often chooses reputable brands by domestic manufacturers and OCOP products of the province.
In the time to come, the provincial Department of Industry and Trade will work with the Steering Committee for the campaign as well as relevant agencies, organisations and associations to strengthen and diversify communication formats, while keeping a close eye on the market development, ensuring smooth goods circulation and creating favourable conditions for businesses to organise booths to sell Vietnamese products and market stabilising goods to meet the demands of locals, especially those in remote areas.
