Yen Bai’s trade sector boosts product consumption via Alibaba.com

YBO - The Department of Industry and Trade of Yen Bai province, in coordination with the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade have organised an online conference to guide and support local enterprises in selling their products on e-commerce platform Alibaba.com.

At the conference, which saw the participation of 20 firms in Yen Bai, Alibaba experts shared export knowledge and solutions regarding product origin, market demands, goods codes, market analysis, and services and products of Alibaba, among others.  

The event helped the firms grasp business opportunities through the e-commerce amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, and promote Yen Bai’s agricultural products to the world. 

After signing up, businesses can seek partners, place orders, sign contracts and conduct payment through the platform. 

The platform enables businesses to promote their products in over 200 countries and territories worldwide.

In 2024, Nghia Lo Town developed seven new products meeting the 3-star OCOP standard and reevaluated seven products after three years of certification.

Yen Bai currently boasts over 7,440 hectares of tea cultivation, producing more than 69,000 tons annually.

The global Halal market is valued at approximately USD 5 trillion annually, with a strong demand for cinnamon and tea products. This presents significant export opportunities for Yen Bai Province.

In 2024, Yen Bai City achieved vocational training for 2,259 individuals, exceeding the target of 1,790 by 115%. Of this total, 578 people were trained at the college level, achieving 125% of the assigned target of 461.
