A peak period for fighting smuggling and fraud has been set from late November 2021 to late February. The office will assign all members to keep watch around the clock to inspect and make timely forecasts on the situation and devise suitable measures.

It has built plans and joined inter-sectoral checkups on necessities and those with a high demand during year’s end and Tet like confectionery, alcohol, tobacco, beverages, foodstuff, clothes and accessories, and pharmaceutical products and cosmetics, among others.

The taskforce is to join hands with relevant agencies in public security, taxation and health care, along with authorities of wards and communes, to bolster inspections on commodities related to COVID-19 prevention and control work and farming materials, with a focus on locations containing large amounts of goods like storehouses, bus stations, railway stations, markets and gateways to the province.

The force will examine business and services operations by organisations and individuals in the downtown area to prevent the penetration of counterfeit, imitations and low-quality products into the domestic market.

With its high determination, the taskforce has promptly handled numerous points of supply of contrabands, helping stabilise the market as Tet comes near.
