Dong Thi Hien, Director of the Tay Bac Hien Vinh Agricultural Product Production and Processing Co-operative, Yen Binh district said: "During the time of the pandemic, it was difficult to do business in the traditional way, so we have decided to put the co-operative's products on the e-commerce platforms of Sendo, Lazada, Tiki, Shopee and Vo so of Viettel Post".

"Our products are well received by consumers when putting on sale on e-commerce platforms, thus, the sale is also more convenient," Hien said.

Taking advantage of e-transactions, Viettel Post’s branch in Yen Bai province has proactively updated nearly 40 One Commune One Products (OCOP) products of the province on Vo So's e-commerce platform (voso.vn). Thanks to the platform, Gioi Phien Vermicelli Cooperative in Yen Bai city has more channels for introducing and selling its products, resulting in 20 percent higher volume of sales than before.

In addition to domestic e-commerce platforms such as Lazada, Tiki, Sen Do, and Shopee, international e-commerce platforms, such as Alibaba and Amazon with large markets, will help businesses reaching the target customers. This is also an advantage for businesses and cooperatives in the province to change their market approach.

The province currently has 94 OCOP products, most of which have met the sales criteria on domestic e-commerce platforms. In the past time, the industry and trade industry has promoted assisting enterprises and co-operatives in putting agricultural products, especially those that meet OCOP standards, on e-commerce platforms.

Doan Le Khoa, Director of the Centre for Trade Promotion and Agricultural Extension under the Department of Industry and Trade, said: "Producers have been guided to update product information in line with the requirements which focus on enterprise and product information, product standards, the management and sales methods".

Recently, the centre has also coordinated with the Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade to support businesses and cooperatives in the area to put their products on international e-commerce platforms such as Alibaba and Amazon.

Dao Duc Hieu, Director of the Suoi Giang Ecological Tourism Co-operative in Van Chan district, said: "The cooperative's products have met all the elements of a national brand product. The search for export markets through the e-commerce platforms and business-matching events will be an opportunity for the cooperative to find new markets, contributing to promoting products to domestic and foreign consumers.”

Currently, there are many small and medium enterprises doing export business in the province. In the context of the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, trading on e-commerce platforms is an advantage for enterprises in the province to participate in the development of e-commerce business globally.
